History Students Published in UTSA’s Journal of Undergraduate Research & Scholarly Work

July 30, 2018

History students Jason Boan and Sarah Vegerano were two of just six COLFA students to have their work published in Volume 4 of UTSA's Journal of Undergraduate Research & Scholarly Work

Jason Boan's research, titled "Hemispheric Solidarity: Experiences and Memories of WWII Internment," was mentored by Dr. Catherine Nolan-Ferrell.  Sarah Vegerano was mentored by Dr. Jerry González for her work, "The Children Left Behind: Education and Race Reconstructing San Antonio, 1865-1877."

The Journal accepts submissions from across the country.  Each submission goes through a rigorous review process, starting with a desk review, then passed to area editors. Any submissions that pass successfully through these stages are then passed to the Director of the Writing Program for review of writing syntax and citations. The editor-in-chief makes the final decisions on whose submissions will be published.

Congratulations to Jason and Sarah on your accomplishment!

Their work can be found here:

If you're interested in submitting your research for future publications, you can view the flyer here.
